ALIR Week Is Here!

Hello everyone – ALIR Week at Sea Cliff Yacht Club got off to a great start on Saturday with a terrific Rock The Dock party. On Monday, the Naval Academy midshipmen arrived on Wahoo, their Kerr 50. Unfortunately, the second Naval Academy boat, Apollo, had to stop in Westbrook, Ct for repairs so the crew has come down to Sea Cliff without the boat – for now. We’re certainly hoping they can make it to the start on Thursday.

Tuesday is the annual Middie Pig Roast BBQ. The grills will be hot and the membership is invited to bring their dinner down and meet the midshipmen from the Naval Academy and the US Merchant Marine Academy (Kings Point). There will be a special “colors” ceremony at sunset followed by a USNA vs USMMA Volleyball Challenge under the lights – thanks to Doug Oko’s VP Events.

We know that many will be at a swim meet but after that is over do be sure to stop down to welcome the midshipmen and wish them good luck in the ALIR.

Tomorrow we’ll have the results of the Volleyball Challenge and more tips on how you can experience ALIR Week.
